We will have a son!!!

A few weeks ago, our case worker from our agency emailed us and asked us about an ideal age for our child (a more narrowed age between 0-4). The NEXT day, I got an email with a sweet little baby face! My heart melted from the moment I saw his face. He has the most beautiful eyes! This. was. our. son. I could not stop looking at his precious face. A few days later, we received his official report. Our little guy has been through so much sorrow in his few years of life. I am so excited to be his mommy, but filled with an aching heart for what he has been through. I am so thankful that we serve a God who brings hope to the broken and holds the orphan in His arms. Needless, to say, these past few weeks have been a whirlwind of emotions! Excitement, nervousness, trust, etc., etc.

The courts in Uganda open back up after being closed for a month on August 15th. We should be receiving our court date soon! It is looking like Johnny will be getting off the plane from deployment to his son! What a beautiful day that will be! With the court date potentially being very soon, we are still in need of finances to pay the remaining agency fees and travel expenses. We have applied for some grants and loans, but may not hear back from grants until I am already in country. Would you prayerfully consider helping us bring our baby home? Here's how you can help: Homemade Cheesecakes for $25, Ugandan necklaces for $15, and any "junk" you don't want can be put in our yard sale! Also, you can make a tax deductible donation directly to our agency. When you do this you will receive a tax letter to write it off on this year's taxes. If you feel led to give, make your check out to Across the World Adoptions and put "The Campbell adoption" in the memo line. You can mail it to:
                                                       395 Taylor Boulevard, Suite 116
                                                              Pleasant Hill, CA 94523

We are so thankful for your prayers and your support! We can not wait until our baby is with us and gets to meet the amazing community of people God has placed in our lives!

  1. I found your story on the Hands Free Mama blog that I follow with the story of the $1 donation from her daughter to you. I will happily make a donation to Across the World Adoptions in your name to help. After struggling with infertility for years we were blessed with a baby boy this year via IVF. I know what the ache for a child feels like. I wish you all the best with your new son. Soak in every moment...

  2. I also found your story on HFM and will pop a check in the mail tomorrow. After years of trying and failing, I found myself very unexpectedly pregnant at 47! My daughter is now almost 10 months old and has brought us joy that I could not even have imagined. Good luck getting your boy. Here's wishing you all the health and happiness in the world.

  7. I just sent along $5 as well, after reading the HFM post. Isn't it amazing how small donations from many can turn into to something wonderful?

  10. Amanda, I heard about you through Hands Free Mama...and wanted to pass along this business website: www.delicatefortress.com The company is Delicate Fortress Creations, an online only business providing a place to "shop with purpose". All of their items benefit groups/people getting out of poverty, human trafficking, modern day slavery, etc. But the point is, they do online fundraisers, and have done many for people raising money for adoptions. (In fact, the owner and her husband are in the process of adopting from Haiti right now...so they know what it's like!) Anyway, I thought it might be a good connection for you to help raise money to bring your little guy home. God bless you all!
